About Us

Nobody has ever left a party talking about the balloons.
They talk about the thing someone said at midnight, the friend who stayed an hour later than they meant to. The decorations are in the photographs; they were never what the night was made of.
And yet, somewhere along the way, getting ready became the event.
Think about the last thing you hosted. Not the party — the hours before it. The assembly, the instructions you read twice, the worry about whether it will look right, which is really a worry about being judged. And then the part everyone recognises: the doorbell goes, your guests arrive, and you are still finishing.
You spent weeks planning an evening you then missed.
That is not a story about being a bad host. It is a story about things designed to be photographed rather than put up by one person in a real room.
We think that's backwards.
Setting up was never the point. Showing up was.
Your guests didn't come to assess your decorating. They came to see you. And you spent the best part of the day facing away from them.
That belief is the only brief we give ourselves.

Every product is measured in minutes

Not what does it look like. Not how many pieces. How long between taking it out of the box and being finished?
So every product page carries a line like this:
Set-up: 90 seconds · one person · no tools · packs back into the box it came in.
"Easy to assemble" means whatever the seller wants it to mean. "Ninety seconds" is either true or it isn't — and you'll know which within one use.
Two rules follow, and both cost us sales.
The ten-minute rule. If it takes longer than ten minutes to put up, we don't sell it. We have turned down bestsellers over this — whole categories, in two cases — because they were beautiful and they ate an afternoon.
The one-piece rule. Nothing here only works if you buy the rest of the set. One item, alone, on a real table, should look finished. Kits exist to make you spend more before you're allowed to feel done.

We will also tell you what we gave up

We don't sell anything needing a tool. No pumps, no glue guns, no ladders, no tape that takes paint off on the way down.
We don't sell single-use glitter things — the most profitable corner of this industry, and we won't carry them. What you throw out on the night is what you'll buy again next year.
And we don't sell anything that needs styling. If it has to be arranged to look right, it will look wrong within ten minutes of people arriving, which is exactly when you stop being able to fix it.
Our things go back in the box they came from: flat, labelled, working next year.
We can't promise your party will be a good one. Nobody can sell you that. What we can promise is narrower and far more useful: you'll finish before the doorbell, and you'll be in the room for the part people remember.
Less setting up. More showing up.
